About Me

I am a native "Eugenian", and love living in the Pacific Northwest. I completed my Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland in 2011. After practicing in Southwest Portland for two years alongside my favorite naturopath, I relocated my family back to Eugene in early 2014. I am nationally board certified and licensed by the Oregon Medical Board to practice Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

My Purpose and Philosophy

Acupuncture is amazing medicine.  It is ancient, proven, and safe.  I am often asked what inspired me to choose this as my career.  It is a story I am proud to tell.

In the early 2000’s, I was working toward my goal of becoming a nutritionist by working full time at Oregon Health and Science University as an administrative assistant by day, and completing science requirements at Portland State University in the evenings. In the winter of 2004, I found myself quite burned out, manifesting as a soul-sapping combination of alternating anxiety and depression.  Thankfully I found Dr. Samantha Brody on my insurance list of providers.  In our second visit, Dr. Brody (strongly) encouraged me to consider adding acupuncture to our treatment plan, which I did that same day.  I wish that I could put into words the effect that first acupuncture treatment had on (and in) me.  My soul opened, my mind became clear, my focus returned, my anxiety calmed, my fears released their hold on me. Acupuncture was the "level up" in needed to move forward in my life. In the weeks that followed, I researched my opportunities.  I knew this was the medium for me with which to do my work, and that I could use this amazing tool and share this medicine in order to impact as many people as possible.

While I don’t necessarily think we are put on the planet for a single purpose, I do believe we have a responsibility to find our passion and make a positive mark on the world while we are here.  Often along the way we find traumas, heartbreaks, injuries, illnesses and more. When we don't stop to heal fully, we might get stuck in the fallout from those difficulties. As it did for me, I hope acupuncture will help you find your way back to your life's purpose and your beautiful, powerful and authentic self. Your journey to heath begins when you empower yourself to make the best decisions for your wellbeing and live in the way you feel is supporting your true and amazing potential. If I can be just one small part of that awakening, then I would be honored.
